HV Shunt Capacitor
Use and Application
It’s mainly used in 6 ~ 110 kV system of power frequency for reactive compensation to increase the power factor, decrease the loss and improve power quality.

The meaning of the type model
Example: BAM11/√3-334-1W
That means: Benzyl toluene impregnating, film dielectric, HV shunt capacitor, rated voltage is 11/√3kV; rated capacity is 334kVar, single phase, outdoor.

1.       Rated voltage: 3.81~21kV.
2.       Rated frequency: 50/60Hz
3.       Rated capacity: 50~800kVar.
4.       Loss tangent: ≦0.0003.
5.       Number of phase: single phase.
6.       Insulation level: 42/75kV, 68/125kV.
7.       Discharge resistor: an internal discharge resistance is equipped with capacitor, that will reduce the terminal voltage from √2Un to 75V or less within 10 min after the capacitor is disconnected from the grid.
8.       Capacitance tolerance: 0~+5%.
Features:
1.        Bushing: Bushing is cold pressed, pollution prevented; creepage distance is more than 31mm/kV.
2.        Stable internal fuse technology
(1)     The internal fuse could isolate the fault element in 0.2Us through test, released energy at the failure point is not greater than 0.3KJ and the other components are not affected.
(2)     Advanced concealed fuse structure, which uses oil gap arc, which reduces the explosion possibility of capacitor tank shell.
(3)     Complete standard is used between internal fuse protect and relay protect, which makes sure safe and reliable operation of the whole device, and prevents capacitor from explosion.
3.        Great insulation tolerance, test shows that capacitor could withstand 4Un transient effects and 2.5Un in 5 min.
4.        Liquid dielectric: 100% M/DBT, which has excellent low temperature features and partial discharge performance.
5.        Main insulation uses complicated insulating structure, which guarantees the excellent electrical performance and mechanical strength, and guarantees that the insulation capacitor device to earth is reliable 100% without protection.
6.        Good sealing performance: Leakage rate per year is less than 0.1%.the sealing performance is guaranteed by automatic TIG Welding, Kerosene leak testing, vacuum leak test and aging.
7.        High partial discharge level, extinguishing voltage is not less than 1.5Un, and factory test of each capacitor includes partial discharge test.
Service condition:
1.       The capacitor can be used in door or outdoor.
2.       The altitude of the site is not more than 3000m.
3.       Temperature range: -40/D, pollution degree: IV.
4.       There is no corrosive gas and vapor.
5.       No strong mechanical vibration.
